If you’ve been anywhere near the news in the past couple weeks, you’re probably aware of the massive flooding we’ve had here in Colorado. What you may not know is that the majority of the images you saw on your tv were from right here in my very own hometown, Longmont. We were very, very lucky that our house was not in a flood zone but we know many people who were not so lucky. With everything that’s been going on, it’s been an emotionally draining time and I am very ready to look forward to better times. So, for today’s Disney Letter “O” post, I’m choosing some of my favorite pics of Oktoberfest at Epcot’s Biergarten. Not only am I ready to say goodbye to September and move into October, but celebrating Oktoberfest has been a bit of a healing experience for some of us here in Longmont. This past weekend, our annual Oktoberfest was held, as scheduled, with all proceeds going to local charities that are supporting the flood relief efforts. The sun was shining, people were smiling and having a good time and it was, I think, a good first step toward healing and rebuilding our town.
